Since moving to ABC, "Scrubs" is now getting the network help and support that they had not been getting at NBC, says show creators. The network is upgrading "Scrubs" production to HD for the 8th season, and its going to produce several "webisodes" to promote the show further online.

"It was a pleasant surprise to have people from the network visit the set, because nobody has done that in six or seven years," creator/showrunner Bill Lawrence said at the Television Critics Assn. press tour Wednesday. "I don’t think that’s NBC dropping the ball; I think it’s the difference of doing a show for a network that also produces you."

The 8th season is also suspected to be to last season. Adding to these rumors are Zach Braff saying, "My sense is this is my last year."

Though the show creators and ABC do not plan for the switch to be a one season affair. They intend to continue the show, with possible cast changes. They compared it to an "ER" type show, with an evolving cast.

I am glad Scrubs is finally getting the support that it needs. I am a big fan of the show, and will be sad to see it go, if it is truly in its finally stages. I am not sure how I feel about a new cast. I obviously would not prefer it, but with the writers that Scrubs has, it may turn out to be just as funny. It’s the comedy style, and the jokes that I enjoy. The characters are really flippin’ funny as well, but the writing and comedy are whats important. So, we’ll see. I’ll give it a chance.
